ABOUT MMR
The Muskoka Motor Rally is an annual charity event supporting emergency medicine at UHN Foundation and the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation. Since its inception in 2020, MMR has raised over $3 million thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, sponsors, and participants.
As we look ahead to 2026, MMR is setting an ambitious new goal:
to raise $1 million in support of vital emergency medical services across Ontario.
Join us for another unforgettable year as we drive forward together - fueling care, compassion, and impact for communities in need.
MMR SUPPORTS EMERGENCY MEDICINE

The University Health Network is one of the world’s most respected healthcare and medical research institutions — ranked No. 2 globally and No. 1 in Canada. Based in Toronto, UHN is home to a network of leading hospitals and world-class research centers, united by a shared mission to deliver exceptional patient care, pioneer breakthrough research, and shape the future of medicine.
Through its renowned hospitals — Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre — UHN drives medical innovation across disciplines, from advanced surgical care to cutting-edge cancer treatment and transformative biomedical research. Its clinicians, researchers, and educators work together to push the boundaries of what’s possible in healthcare, advancing life-saving discoveries and improving outcomes for patients in Canada and around the world.
The South Muskoka Hospital Foundation is dedicated to strengthening healthcare for the entire Muskoka community by supporting South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge. As the philanthropic partner to the hospital, the Foundation funds essential medical equipment, advanced technology, capital improvements, and staff education — ensuring patients have access to high-quality, modern care close to home.
Since its founding, the Foundation has raised and invested tens of millions of dollars to support hospital programs, expand services, and upgrade critical care equipment — work that directly impacts emergency medicine, diagnostics, surgery, and patient care for both year-round residents and the hundreds of thousands who visit Muskoka each year. With no direct government funding for equipment, community support plays a vital role in ensuring the hospital remains equipped to deliver exceptional care when it’s needed most.

Transforming Emergency Care for Older Adults
This year, the Muskoka Motor Rally is proud to support the creation of the
Myrna Daniels
Seniors Emergency Medicine Centre
at University Health Network — Canada’s first purpose-built emergency department designed exclusively for seniors.
As Canada’s population ages, more older adults are arriving in emergency departments with complex medical needs — yet traditional emergency rooms aren’t built to support them.
This new, 9,000 sq. ft. centre will change that, offering a calmer, safer, and more compassionate environment tailored specifically to seniors and their caregivers.
Located at Toronto Western Hospital, the Centre will deliver specialized geriatric care, reduce hospital admissions, and improve outcomes for thousands of older adults every year. Through cutting-edge research, senior-friendly design, and a dedicated multidisciplinary care team, this Centre is setting a new global standard for how we care for older adults in moments that matter most.
Together, we can redefine what aging looks like — and ensure our seniors receive the dignity, care, and innovation they deserve.

IMPACT STORIES
The Rapid Assessment Center is Now Open!
The Rapid Assessment Centre at University Health Network's Toronto General Hospital is a specialized facility designed to expedite and enhance patient assessment in the Emergency Department. It addresses the challenges of overcrowding and increased demand for emergency care. The center is designed to be adaptable to the needs of a pandemic, ensuring that it can effectively respond to increased patient volumes during health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. With separate streams for complex and less sick patients, it aims to streamline the patient flow and ensure efficient care. Muskoka Motor Rally expresses deep gratitude to be a part of initiatives like these, recognizing the vital impact they have on improving healthcare accessibility.
Listen to insights from our esteemed colleagues, Dr. Sabbah, Dr. Chartier, and other dedicated clinicians, as they share their perspectives on the significance of the Rapid Assessment Center.
MMR Supports SMFH Equipment Acquisition
The proceeds from the rally supported the acquisition of essential equipment for the SMHF's Emergency Department. This included the addition of two new ECG machines, which played a crucial role in efficiently evaluating heart health and detecting signs of heart disease. Funds also contributed to the implementation of a negative pressure system in the trauma room, designed to safeguard patients with infectious illnesses from contact with others. Additionally, the support facilitated the acquisition of an intubation cart for rapid access to difficult airway equipment, an anesthesia machine for administering anesthesia during medical procedures, and a bladder scanner—a noninvasive portable tool for diagnosing, managing, and treating urinary outflow dysfunction. Overall, the rally greatly improved the Emergency Department's capabilities, leading to enhanced patient care.
